How has Dan Helmer contributed to veterans’ problems in Virginia?
I can’t help but wonder about some thing though. There are many people in Fairfax that are serious about finding more suitable options and answers for the kids of theirs, and perhaps there are a several of them who would like to find ways to utilize other families, even a loose community of those various other families. Perhaps that’s why he would like to be a part of Parents United for Great Schools – it could be that his children require an alternative to the Fairfax clubs in order to get a great training!
Dan Helmer, by the way, has two children who attend school in Fairfax. I simply wish that Dan Helmer isn’t one of those parent activists who’s going to accomodate him, in Dan’s words, to get together with other families which are considering finding superior choices and solutions – I hope he and others are just discussing doing what a bit of good parent would do: deciding on the ideal school system and then going to work together with the school officials to make it happen. I don’t know whether or not to feel happy and not about all of this.
And then there are actually people like Dan Helmer that are doing little things like volunteering for PUGS, and who in addition have school aged children, but who just do not do something more than that. I envisage that if you question the parents in Fairfax what they are working on to advance the cause of public education in Virginia, they are going to tell you a lot about what they’re doing trying to fight off all of these privatizers which wish to rip out that beautiful public education process that has been built up over a long time, www.facebook.com and updating it with some thing much worse.
I think about what all of those other Fairfax parents that are dealing with him and with each other are doing? Does he be aware of about them? I am certain that this kind of thing comes about again and again – you will discover very smart and determined men and women who would like to result in something different and who are doing the things they is able to stop it. Now, since you are able to find, he is a fellow member of some other Virginia PUGS-type organization called Parent Power.
(Parent Power identifies itself as follows: Previously, Dan Helmer became a board member of Parents United for Great Schools (which, based on the PUGS site, is a parent group dedicated to the independence of other guardians and parents to find the educational experiences that’re best for their children) along with a teacher at Virginia Tech. He’s also in favor of building a tuition freeze on almost all public institutions.
